At Lathered Artisan, your satisfaction is our top priority. Many of our products are intended for contact with the skin or for consumption, and protecting the health of our customers and staff is essential. For this reason, we cannot accept returns of items that may compromise product safety or sanitation once they have left our facility. This ensures that you can always trust the products you receive from us to be fresh, safe, and of uncompromised quality.

If you’re not completely happy with your purchase, we’re here to help. Please review the following guidelines carefully.

1. Initiating a Return, Refund, or Exchange

To request a return, refund, or exchange, email us at contact@latheredartisan.com for authorization.

Include your order details and the reason for your request, with photos if applicable.

Returns, refunds, and exchanges cannot be processed without prior authorization.

2. Returns

  • Returns may be requested within 30 days of the purchase date.
  • Returns without prior authorization will not be accepted.
  • We cannot accept returns on any item intended for skin contact or consumption, including but not limited to: teas, herbs, soaps, lotions, balms, scrubs, essential oils, and similar products.
  • Final Sale/Clearance items, special orders (such as “Make it for me!” items), and gift cards are non-returnable.
  • Other products, such as candles and wax melts, may be eligible for return if damaged or defective.
  • All returns are subject to our review and granted at our discretion, including whether a refund or replacement will be issued.
  • While we cover the cost of shipping your order to you, customers are responsible for return shipping costs.
  • We recommend using a trackable and insured shipping service, with the original shipping box and packing materials.
  • A restocking fee of up to 50% may apply to any authorized return.

3. Refunds

  • Once your return is received, we will inspect the item to confirm it meets our return guidelines, including that it is unused, intact, and performs as intended. This process may take up to 10 business days.
  • Refunds may be issued to your original payment method or as store credit.
  • Refunds may take up to 5 additional business days to appear, depending on your bank.
  • Any item that is returned and is found to perform as intended (including scent as described) will not qualify for a refund or replacement.

4. Exchanges

  • The same return guidelines apply to items returned for exchange.
  • Exchanges are available for the exact same item, quantity, style, or scent, subject to stock availability.
  • Once your return is received, we will inspect the item to confirm it meets our return guidelines, including that it is unused, intact, and performs as intended. This process may take up to 10 business days.
  • Exchanges may be shipped before the return item is received, in certain circumstances, at our discretion.
  • If the returned item is materially different from what was authorized, the original item is not returned, or other unforeseen issues occur, you will be charged for the exchange item, and the original item will not be refunded or credited.
  • Exchange items will be shipped no later than 10 business days after we have received the returned item, unless the item is a special order (“Make it for me!”) item, which may take up to 30 days to ship.
  • Any item that is returned and is found to perform as intended (including scent as described) will not qualify for a refund or replacement.

5. Non-Returnable Items

  • Personalized, custom, or special order items (e.g., “Make it for me!”)
  • Items marked “Last Chance,” “Discontinued,” or “Clearance”
  • Items damaged or altered after delivery
  • Items intended for skin contact or consumption
  • Essential oils
  • Herbs & teas

6. Damaged or Defective Items

  • Any damage from shipping must be reported within 48 hours of receipt.
  • If your order arrives damaged, contact us at contact@latheredartisan.com with your order number, a description of the damage, and photos of the label, shipping box, item, and damage. Photos may be required to process the claim.
  • Defective items must be reported within 30 days of receipt, including order number, item name, description of the issue, and photos if possible.

7. Cancellations & Amendments

  • Orders can only be canceled or amended before they are marked as shipped.
  • Once shipped, our standard return policy applies. Orders can ship in as little as 15 minutes.
  • To cancel or amend an order, contact us immediately at contact@latheredartisan.com or reply to your confirmation email. Use a bold, attention grabbing subject line such as: “I NEED TO CHANGE MY ORDER”.

8. Delivery Issues

  • Late or Lost: Notify us of packages not received within 7 business days so we can monitor the situation.
  • Delivered but Not Received: If your package shows as delivered but you haven’t received it, contact your local post office. We cannot be held responsible for carrier delivery issues.
  • Incorrect Address: Notify us before your order ships. Once shipped, we cannot make changes or take responsibility for delivery issues. USPS offers a Package Intercept service, subject to fees and USPS terms.
  • Returned to Sender: If a package is returned due to an incorrect address, we can assist with reshipping, but any additional shipping costs are the customer’s responsibility.

9. Respectful Communication

  • We expect all communication to be respectful and professional.
  • Any communication deemed rude, abusive, demeaning, or disrespectful will result in immediate termination of the customer relationship.
  • Upon termination, the customer will have no further communications, refunds, returns, or exchanges. This decision is final and at our discretion.
